STEVEN W. “STEVE” WILHELME

Of Hortonville, age 45 years, died Monday, October 11, 2005 with his family at his side at Cherry Meadows after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 25, 1960 in West Allis the son of Gerald and Evelyn (Fenner) Wilhelme. Steve graduated from Appleton West High School in 1978. He was an active member of the Americano Drum and Bugle Corps. Steve was an avid Nascar fan, loved music, playing cribbage and card games, reading and watching comedy movies. His real love was the outdoors, especially watching deer and birds, fishing and enjoying a campfire on a bright starry night. Steve loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed making people smile and laugh.
Steven is survived by his son, Dustin Wilhelme of Appleton; his parents, Gerald and Evelyn Wilhelme of Bullhead City, AZ; sisters, Kate Ward of Oshkosh, Diane Edwards of Hortonville and Suzanne (Jerry) Perzentka of Neenah and a brother, Jeff (Mari) Wilhelme of Venice, FL. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2005 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOMES, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Visitation will take place from 2:00 pm until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in Steven’s name. Special thanks to ThedaCare Hospice for their compassion and excellent care.
