Steven A. Reitzner, age 74, passed away on November 3, 2024. He was born in Neenah, WI on May 4, 1950, to the late Edwin and Helen (Yorkson) Reitzner and was a lifelong resident of the Fox Valley.
After graduating from St Mary Central High School, Menasha, Steve continued his education, earning degrees from UW Oshkosh and Fox Valley Technical College.
Steve was employed by Eggers Harwood Products, of Neenah, and later at FVTC in Appleton, until his retinitis pigmentosa progressed to the point where he was no longer able to work. Even though he had physical challenges, he never complained. By using adaptive equipment, he was able to read and use his computer, and lived independently most of his adult life, only having to rely on assisted living this past year.
Steve shared his Grandpa Yorkson’s passion for football. Every Sunday, Steve cheered on the Packers and enjoyed discussing the sport with anyone who shared his interest.
He is survived by numerous cousins and a long-time friend Susie Haugen. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as good friends Mary Jane Popp and Marjorie Krueger.
Visitation will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Steve will be laid to rest at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Menasha.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Steve’s name to the Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired, 754 Williamson Street, Madison, WI 53703; or to your favorite agency that supports those with visual or hearing impairments.
