Stephen Clark Gruber, 48, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 1, 2021, at home with his family by his side in Neenah, WI. He was born on March 1, 1972, in Plainwell, MI to Edgar and Hope (Silva) Gruber. He is a graduate of Plainwell High School located in Plainwell, MI. Stephen was united in marriage to the love of his life Kelly Ann Schiedel in April of 1993.
Stephen was employed at MPI research in Mattawan, MI and later with Alta Resources of MI. In January of 2010, the family moved to Neenah WI, where he continued employment with Alta Resources. In 2013, he was employed by Packerland Home Improvement-Renewal by Andersen of Kaukauna, WI. In 2018, he became the Marketing Director for a local nonprofit, Threads of Hope Inc. until June of 2020.
Stephen’s Christian Faith was central in his life, in his family, work, and service, he encouraged others with God’s love. He served through hosting Sunday school classes, volunteered as a Youth Group Leader as well as his service and involvement with missions through Threads of Hope, Inc. Stephen and Kelly were actively involved with Threads of Hope Inc. A mission fighting human trafficking in the Philippines for 10 years. Stephen was a member of Northeastern Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, MI for 15 years and most recently a member of Calvary Bible Church in Neenah, WI. Stephen was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, creating custom fishing rods, hunting, archery, woodworking, he also took joy in photography and writing. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his faithful trust in the Lord.
Stephen is survived by his wife Kelly, children Kara (Zeke) Eckert of Charlottesville, VA., Timothy (Clara) Gruber of Eau Claire, WI. and Isabella Gruber of Neenah, WI. He is further survived by his mother, Hope Gruber of Plainwell, MI and siblings, Alan (Randa), Mark (Jenny), Corinna (Johnathan) and Andrew (Casey).
Stephen was preceded in death by his brother Timothy Lee Gruber and father Edgar Gruber.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Rd., Neenah, with Pastor Joe Pytleski, the Evangelism Pastor of Calvary Bible Church officiating. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Dale, WI.
The family requests face masks be worn. As well as wear the color blue for Stephen’s favorite color and/or green for Kelly’s favorite color and Liver Cancer Awareness.
