Age 77, died at Franciscan Care Center on December 19, 2001. Stan was born to the late Joseph and Anna (Nichols) Schimmers in Appleton on March 15, 1924. Stan’s many friends knew him for his winning smile, quick laughter, and big heart. Card playing was a favorite activity for Stan as he was very lucky and it allowed him to spend time with friends. Stan is survived by two brothers, Oliver (Dorothy) Schimmers of Appleton and Russell (Gail) Schimmers of Bonduel; three sisters, Josephine Bellin of Appleton, Olive (Harold) Emons of Appleton, and Florence Knutsen of Appleton. Stan is preceded by his parents; brother, Frank Schimmers; sister, Katherine Schimmers; brother-in-law, Orviand Knutsen; and sister-in-law, Marie Schimmers. The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2001, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Deacon Donald Wetzel officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. The family extends a special thank you to Carrie Morgan for her very special love and support to Stan. She was like a mother to him. A memorial fund is being established.
