Spencer T. Calmes ‘Teddy’
Age 80
Of Appleton
passed away peacefully on August 14, 2003, at his home. Spencer was born to the late Fred and Hattie Calmes on September 25, 1922, in Appleton. He entered the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. Teddy was a lifelong member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid deer hunter, Packer fan, bowler and loved dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, Appleton; a son, Steve, Fond du Lac; two sisters-in-law: Cleo (Will) Smith, Roberts Lake, WI, and Betty Kluge, Appleton; and his dog, Buster. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Spencer was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Lydia and Dewey Berzill; and their dog, Tuffy.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2003 at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Father Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the time of services. Military Honors will follow. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.
