“I Left My Heart…” 내 마음을 놓고 갔어.
This is a famous line from the well-loved classic K-drama, “Lovers in Paris” and as in this case, bemoans a love lost. The hearts of all who were blessed to know Sophie, felt lost as she left us behind to join Jesus on Easter Day.
Sophie Kathleen Sullivan, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, and friend, died on April 17, 2022, in a tragic car accident along with her best friend, Audrie Raiyne Stephens. 21 years young, Sophie was born November 17th, 2000.
Sophie lit up the room like a brilliant flame; a candle too soon extinguished, her independent, brave, and resilient spirit naturally drew others to her, bringing much joy and constance to many lives. She graduated from Appleton North High School in 2019 after establishing The Korean Club (the K-Club.) Her love for Korean-culture (K-dramas, K-Pop,etc.) was well known amongst her friends, and led to a Mother-daughter trip to Seoul upon graduation, to discover more about her ancestral roots.
She was a highly motivated, free-spirited young woman with a discernment and wisdom beyond her years. It was her wish to never be a burden to others and that her brother, Tristan, who she dearly loved, be forever cared for. She traveled to many countries and loved to take countless road trips with her friends. She was an avid reader, loved cars and dreamed of fixing up her newly acquired early 90’s Mazda Miata, she nicknamed “Mimi.” She was never afraid to try something new; even hunting and getting her snowmobile and boater safety licenses with her Mom and Step-dad. Recently, Sophie was promoted to Head Teller at Community First Credit Union and adored her Community First Family and her career in banking.
Sophie is survived by: the loves of her life—her precious kitties, Pluto and Luna; her mother, Suzanne Sullivan and step-father, Justin Gritt; along with her father, Patrick Sullivan and step-mother, Nicole Sullivan; her brother, Tristan; her grandmother Kit Sullivan; grandparents Rich and Kathy Melville, and step-grandparents Mary and Ed Gritt. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins; and countless wonderful friends.
With so many people to love her, Sophie will have 2 funerals:
