Sigrid Naomi “Tiggy” Erickson, 87, of Appleton and Webster, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022 with her loving family at her side. Sigrid was born on March 8, 1935 in Bergenfield, New Jersey, the youngest child of Eskil and Eleanor Englund. Following her education as an RN in Massachusetts, she moved to the Midwest, where she met and married Clinton Erickson in 1958. Together they welcomed four daughters.
Sigrid loved her life in Minnesota, where she worked part-time as an RN in newborn nursery, NICU, and nursing home care. She was also actively involved in the many Lutheran churches Clint served in Minnesota and Wisconsin. As much as she loved her career and volunteerism, her true joy and passion was being a wife, mother and friend.
Throughout her life, Sigrid was happiest when she was caring for others. This loving care was given abundantly to family, friends, and almost any person or animal she felt needed her attention or support. Sigrid and Clint loved the many years they spent living at their North Sand Lake home, next door to her sister Enid and brother-in-law Peter. The cabin was a place of countless joyful memories and delicious meals. Times there with her family brought her the most joy. The last years of her life, Sigrid and Clint relocated to a wonderful senior living facility, Eagle Point, in Appleton. Their new friends added much joy to their lives.
Sigrid is survived by her loving husband, Clint, daughters Kathy (Jack) Anderson, Gail (Brad) Austin, and Jill (Mark) Austin, and her dear sister, Enid Erickson. She cherished her 12 grandchildren and their families, including 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tracy Maloney, grandson Scott Maloney, her parents Eskil and Eleanor Englund, brother Ronald, and many beloved in-laws.
Sigrid’s family would like to thank her many dedicated and loving caregivers, including the wonderful staff at Eagle Point Senior Living, ThedaCare Hospice, and Dr. Orlando (Angelo) Taleon.
