Shirley M. Techlin, age 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 6, 2017, at her home with her family by her side. She was born to the late George and Hilda (Schroeder) Wendt on August 1, 1930. Shirley met Lloyd C. Techlin, the son of the late Alfred and Edna Techlin over ice cream and was married on September 8, 1951. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together before his passing on August 18, 2014. She greatly enjoyed baking, playing cards, bowling, gardening, mowing the lawn, and puzzles. Shirley loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Following sports was her favorite past-time, from following her grand-kids teams to professional, it was always a part of her life.
Shirley is survived by her sons: Randy Techlin and Kim (Penny) Techlin; grandchildren: Ryan (Jessica) Techlin, Tamara (Christopher) Mattioli, Jason (special friend Keri) Techlin, Aaron (Kristen) Techlin, Amber Techlin, and Tyler Techlin; great grandchildren: Jocelyn and James Techlin, Elijah, Lilliana, Emmitt Mattioli, Pierce Faskell, and Rysen Techlin; a brother: Larry (Carol) Wendt; a brother-in-law: Jim Kiefer, sisters-in-law: Ruth Wendt and Arlene Techlin; and many other relatives and friends.
Shirley was further preceded in death by her son: Tommy Rae Techlin; a sister: JoAnn Kiefer; a brother: Merle Wendt; a brother-in-law: Harold Techlin; and a niece: Kari Kiefer.
The Christian Funeral Service for Shirley will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 9, 2017, at ST. PETER EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, N2749 French Rd., Appleton, with Rev. Tim Glende officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
