BOURNOVILLE, SHIRLEY G.
Shirley Bournoville, Appleton, age 72, died on Monday, April 7, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on July 30, 1935 in Brussels, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Harry and Rose (Lampereur) Bournoville. Shirley taught in the Kimberly School District for 37 years, retiring in 1998. She was an advisor for the Kimberly Home Ec Club and Kimberly Homemakers. Shirley started the student volunteer program at Kimberly High School and coached Girl's Varsity Golf, Girl's JV Basketball and Jr. High Basketball. She was an avid golfer, participating in and volunteering at numerous N.E. Wisconsin Golf Association events. Shirley was a member of NorthBrook Country Club for many years, serving on their Board of Directors. In recent years, Shirley enjoyed volunteering at local hospitals.
She is survived by her sister: Diane (Allen) Baudhuin, Neenah; one brother: Lee (Karen) Bournoville, Sturgeon Bay; eight nieces and nephews: Scott (Teresa) Baudhuin, Kaukauna; Jeff (Lisa) Baudhuin, Cottage Grove; Jay (Janine) Baudhuin, Mayville; Bruce (Donna) Bournoville, Usk, WA; Tina (Jim) Stawicki, Brian (Cheryl) Bournoville, Tammy Bournoville and Traci Bournoville all of Sturgeon Bay. Shirley is further survived by her many loving great nieces and nephews, all who brought much joy into her life.
The funeral liturgy for Shirley will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 11, 2008 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton with Fr. Norm Krutzik and Fr. Pius Cotter, OFM Cap. concelebrating. Entombment will take place at Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri-County Chapel on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, per Shirley's request, memorials to the American Cancer Society or Transplant Wisconsin are appreciated.
The family would like to thank the special caregivers at Rennes Health Care; Leo in the ER at St. Elizabeth's, the entire Pastoral Staff, the very compassionate Dr. Mounajjed and Dr. Joseph, the nurses on the 4th floor of St. Elizabeth Hospital, Dr. Sochi and Dr. Scott for all the wonderful, loving care and concern they provided Shirley. Special thanks to her dear friends Mary Beth Nienhaus, Frances Kasten and Margaret Fulton, all her golfing friends at NorthBrook Country Club, and the many other wonderful friends that Shirley had throughout the course of her life for all their love, support, prayers and their many visits during her final days.
