Shirley A. Sprangers, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She was born on July 23, 1936, in Menasha, the daughter of Joseph and Hattie (Rappert) Wroblewski. Shirley was united in marriage to Hilary J. Sprangers on September 1, 1956, in Hofa Park, WI. Hilary preceded her in death on July 16, 2007. She is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, Menasha. Shirley will be remembered most for being a great cook and devoting her life to being a mom, grandma, and great grandma. She enjoyed playing the humstrum, and traveling with Hilary.
Shirley is survived by her children: Pam (Gene) Ruppert, Robert (Nancie) Sprangers, Tim (Sandy) Sprangers, Jayne (Marc) Boehnlein, and Gail (Kirk) Parrish; 11 grandchildren: Lindsey (John) Rush, Tyler (Jamie) Ruppert, Alicia (special friend Dale Smith) Sprangers, Nick (special friend Kaitlyn Kreuser) Sprangers, Mitchell (special friend Emily Crook) Sprangers, Taylor, Cassandra, and Ryan Boehnlein, Samantha (Justin) Kempf, Marisa (special friend Markus Burr) Parrish, and Christopher Parrish; 2 great granddaughters: Lily Broder and Hannah Ruppert; a sister-in-law: Julie Rappert; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 siblings: Clem (Ann) Wroblewski, Marie (Harold) Foley, and Norman Rappert.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 De Pere St., Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Shirley’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the staff of St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, Valley VNA, Neenah, and Greentree, Clintonville.
