Age 63, passed away in Appleton on Monday, February 24, 2004. She was born in Milwaukee on October 9, 1940, daughter of Agnes (Siminski) and the late Joseph Raymond. Shirley grew up in Laona and attended high school there. She was an avid quilter and loved to sit in her rocking chair, making handmade quilts for her family. She also had an avid love for “up north” in the fall, her granddog “Lady”, gardening, and ice cream.

Shirley is survived by her children: Kathy (Terry) Wiltgen of Denmark, Julie Pasternak of Oconto, Sherrie (Dennis) Grogan of Appleton, and John Pasternak of Iron River, MI; grandchildren: Christopher Pasternak, Nicole, Dawn, James, and Brandon Vanamann, Daniel Gostisha, Michael Gostisha, Jr., and Brian Grogan; and her sister, Joanne (Kenneth) Mullins of Crandon. Shirley is preceded in death by her father Joseph.

The funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2004, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor John Kieffer officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Appleton Medical Center; especially Dr. Maria Aristigueta and her assistant Jenny, Dr. Jeffrey Whiteside, and Dr. Robert Nonn for their years of compassionate care .

A memorial fund in Shirley’s name is being established.
