Age 79, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on April 7, 1924 in Appleton the son of the late Ervin and Dorothy (Branchford) Rohloff. On January 31, 1951 he married Betty Jane Huebner in Appleton. Sheldon served his country in the United States Army during World War II, and served nine months in a German Prisoner of War camp. He was employed as an auto body technician at Kolosso Buick for many years. Sheldon was an avid fisherman and enjoyed walleye and perch fishing on Lake Winnebago. He also was an avid Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife Betty Jane of Appleton, a daughter Robin (Gary) Wittmer of Plymouth, Minnesota, five grandchildren Andrew, Peter, Charles, Matthew, and Michael, Wittmer; a brother Wayne (Ann Marie) Rohloff of Newnan Georgia, and a twin sister Shirley Leach of Grants Pass, Oregon; his brother-in-law Wayne (Marion) Huebner of Appleton, his nieces and nephew Debbie (Jose) Estrada, and Mike (Wendy) Huebner all of Appleton, Susan (Gary) King of New Port Ritchie, Florida, and Pat (Mario) Delgaeo of Appleton; and many grand nieces and grand nephews. Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Donald.
A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, January 12, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Wichmann Funeral Home with the Rev. Benjamin Berger officiating. Interment with military honors will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
