With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved child, Sebastian Duran who was taken from us too soon on October 30, 2024, at the tender age of 10 months. Sebastian was born on December 4th, 2023 at the Children's Wisconsin Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Passing away in his mother's arms, after struggling with a birth defect called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). This rare condition resulted in Sebastian being born with his intestines in his chest cavity, which caused his heart to shift slightly and his lung to be undeveloped. He passed gently surrounded by family and loved ones.
During his life, Sebastian loved to hold your hand. If he wasn't holding your hand he was holding on to his emotional support wire. His smile lit up with his fan on. He loved to kick his little musical drum set. His smile was always cheerful when kicking his little feet out; With or without music. His eyes lit up with joy when he pulled at his little whale with chime sounds every time he tugged it. He loved to play with his toy ball attached to an elastic, and he could watch it bounce up and down for hours. When he wasn't as active, Sebastian would cross his little legs like such a gentleman. It was the cutest thing.
Sebastian was always a curious little flirt. If he heard you speaking, he would do his best to follow the sound of your voice, when he was in his brace. If he couldn't see you, he would give you a side eye that was impossible to ignore, and he excelled at it. He brought smiles not only to us but also to the nurses. Wearing a brace didn't prevent him from turning or looking wherever he wanted. He always made it work.
Sebastian gave a lifetime of love during his short time on earth, he laughed and smiled throughout his 10 months, bringing joy and happiness to everyone he touched. Sebastian's passing will remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. We will miss him every day, especially his winning smile. Though his time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts.
Sebastian is survived by his mother, Natalie Duran; his Nana and Grandpa, Mr. And Mrs. Humberto Duran; his aunts and uncle, Viridiana Duran, Sandra (Eduardo) Aguiar Duran, Brenda Duran, Mayra (Alfredo Alvarado) Duran, Luz Maria Duran, Humberto Duran Jr; and extended family.
