Age 78, died peacefully in his sleep on October 9, 2001. He was born on November 17, 1922, to the late Grover and Clara (Routheau) Bailey in Milwaukee. While on leave from serving his country in the Navy during WWII, he married Magdalen De Cloux, in their home town of Oconto, Wisconsin. As an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Scott volunteered his time by serving mass, delivering food for home bound people, and assisting at funeral services. Scott is survived by his wife, Magdalen; daughter, Elizabeth (William) Black; granddaughter, Therese Black; grandson, Steve Black; all of Vancouver, Washington. Also, granddaughter Jennifer Valentyne; and a great-grandson, Taylor Valentyne; both of Kimberly, Wisconsin. The funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2001, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton, at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Renaissance for the wonderful care that Scott received for the last 3 years. A memorial fund is being established in Scott's name.
