Scott J. Buchberger

January 31, 1954 — January 28, 2023

Kimberly

Scott Jerome Buchberger, age 68 of Kimberly, WI passed away on January 28, 2023 surrounded by his beloved family.  Scott was born on January 31, 1954 to Bernard “Bernie” and Florence (Kuepper) Buchberger in Appleton, WI.  He graduated from Kimberly High School with the class of ’73 and went on to work as a millwright for Thilmany Paper for most of his career life.  Scott married the love of his life, Valarie Heiting in June of 1985 and together, they lovingly raised 2 wonderful children.

Scott was a real outdoorsman.  He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and traveling whenever he could.  You could often find Scott in his backyard, at his cottage, or his hunting land planting trees in a comfortable flannel shirt and blue jeans.  He was a huge fan of all the Wisconsin sports teams, always cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Bucks whenever they were on.  Scott was also quite an accomplished baker, spending lots of time perfecting his recipes for cookies, cakes, and pies for his grandchildren.  Most of all, though, Scott loved spending as much time as he could with his family.  He was so proud of his family and loved them more than anything else in the whole wide world.

Scott is survived by his wife, Valarie Buchberger; his children, Donya (Ryan) Randerson and Andrew “Andy” Buchberger; his grandchildren, Raegan and Colton Randerson and Taliah Buchberger; his siblings, Keith (MaryJo) Buchberger, and Lisa (Jeff) Kowalski; his siblings-in-law, Susan Buchberger, Mike (Carol) Heiting, Geneva (Gary “Butch”) VanDera, Robin (Paul) DuFrane, and Ron (Ann) Heiting; his Godchildren, Jessie Stein and Adam VanDera; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Florence Buchberger; his parents-in-law, Melvin and Francis Heiting; his brother, Neil Buchberger; and his niece, Annie Young.

A celebration of life memorial visitation will take place for Scott on Saturday, February 11 from 11 AM – 2 PM at Jansen-Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, WI 54136.  Scott will be laid to rest at Holy Angels Cemetery in Darboy.
