Scott A. Orozco of Appleton, WI, age 52, passed away on September 12, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 5, 1955, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Anna Mae Jacobson and Anthony Orozco. Scott had a great love of flying. After his first solo flight in 1973, he flew in the Minneapolis area doing charter, company pilot and flight instructor work to get flight time. On his 25th birthday, he was hired at Mississippi Valley Airlines, which became Air Wisconsin Airlines in 1985. Over the next 27 years, he held a variety of positions as flight instructor and fleet manager for many different aircrafts. He became Chief Pilot in February 1999 and went on to be Managing Director of Flight Operations. Scott’s motto has always been “Family First” and he lived by it. He enjoyed taking family vacations and in his spare time making model airplanes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Gayle Koontz Orozco, three daughters: Kristin (Nick) Mielke, Taylor, and Skylar Orozco, all of Appleton. He is further survived by his sisters: Robbin (Tom) McCarthy of Minneapolis, MN, and Cynthia (Joseph) McClellan of Phoenix, AZ, his grandmother Anna Kling of Appleton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Appleton Alliance Church on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11:00a.m. Family will arrive two hours prior to services for visitation. Pastor Richard Schaefer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 3311 S. Packerland Drive, DePere, WI 54115, in his loving memory.
