San Juanita Vasquez

Passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2017 at the age of 79. Juanita was born on January 27, 1938 in Rio Hondo, Texas to Refugio and Sista Vasquez. Juanita spent time traveling, gardening knitting, quilting, and other crafts. She was devoted to her grandchildren and enjoyed spending her time with them.

Juanita is survived by her children Mercedes (Jeff) Erickson, Helena (Rick) Hammes, Janie Garcia, Todd (Juliette) Kuchelmeister, and Amado Garcia Jr. Dear grandmother of Sara Erickson, Amanda (Marc) Bobholz, Alyssa Hammes, Adan (Carlee) Garcia, Cristian Meitner, Amado Garcia III “Joey”, Abbey Jayne Garcia, Amy Marketti, and Jason, Adam, Eric, and Ian Kuchelmeister. Great grandmother of Mason, Drayden, Ariana, Andres, and Serenity. Dear sister of Marta Reyes, Lupe Vasquez, Augustine (Gracie) Vasquez, and Maria (Dan) Herman. Aunt of Tony (Bobbi Jo) Douglas. Great aunt of Everett and Reeve Douglas. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, brother Sabas Rivera, and grandson Joey.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Tri-County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Road, on Thursday November 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Time of Family Sharing at 6:00 PM. Private interment. Her family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Homes for their care of Juanita, especially Ali, Tehya, Trista, Jessica, and Candice.
