Ruth Ann Westenberger

Ruth Ann Westenberg, 87, of Menasha, passed away on January 13, 2025. Ruth was born on November 14, 1937 in Ripon Wisconsin to Wesley and Verna (Crook) Golliher. She was a graduate of Oshkosh Hight School, Class of 1955. Ruth’s # 1 job was raising her family but she also worked as a Bar Manager at Alex’s Crown Supper Club. She fondly remembered the customers she got to know of many years until Alex’s closed. She also worked as a clerk in Nicolet Clinic in the Insurance Office.

When her family was young, she enjoyed taking them camping and working hard to have fun on a budget. She also enjoyed knitting, especially dishcloths and slippers, as well as hats and mittens to be donated to local elementary schools. Recently she enjoyed bingo and scratch off cards. Ruth and Howard “Hobbs” used to enjoy winters in Arizona where they often played golf.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Julie Jansen, Mike (Chris) Paulik, Tim Paulik and Dan (Kathy) Paulik, Brad Westenberger, Tim Westenberger, Sue Basler, Jan Westenberger, and Luann Westenberger, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, siblings, Ronald (Sandra) Golliher, Delores Laatsch, Dennis Golliher, sister-in-law Pat Golliher and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years Howard “Hobbs” Westenberger, brother David Golliher, sister Lois (Rip) Winkler, brother-in-law Stanley “Sonny” Laatsch as well as Howard’s brothers and sisters.

There will be a funeral service for Ruth on Monday January 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Wichmann Funeral Homes, Laemmrich Chapel in Menasha. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses at Prairie Home and Heartland Hospice for the loving care given to Ruth.
