RUTH MARIE WORDELL
formerly of Appleton
Age 86, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, May 12, 2003, at St. Luis Nursing Home in Green Bay. Ruth was born on January 11, 1917, in Brothertown, Wisconsin, to Martin and Elizabeth (Stecker) Hillmann. She married Alfred Wordell on October 5, 1935, in Brant, Wisconsin; he preceded her in death on December 3, 1983. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and “Aunt Rudie” to her many nieces and nephews. She was a longtime and faithful member of Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church and was formerly employed in the Food Service Department of AAL. Survivors include her son, David (Marlys) Wordell, Ashwaubenon; her grandson, Rev. Bradley (Andrea) Wordell, Tokyo, Japan; her granddaughter, Brenda (Robert) Hungerford, Hortonville; her great-grandchildren, Brianna, Benjamin, Jonathan, Seth, Josiah, Adam, Aaron and Hannah; her brothers, Wilmer Hillmann, Brillion, and Armond (Audrey) Hillmann, Fond du Lac; her sister, Eunice (Edgar) Voss, Brillion; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Esther (Elmer) Bock and her sister-in-law, Louise Hillmann. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2003, at RIVERVIEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 136 West Seymour Street, Appleton, with Rev. Dennis W. Belter officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church Building Fund. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Garrow Villa, Brillion, for their loving care.
