Age 81, died Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at Cherry Meadows, Appleton. Ruth was born on June 8, 1922, in the Town of Grand Chute, to the late John and Margaret (Donet) Abendroth. She married Lloyd “Bud” Puls on May 12, 1945, in Appleton. Ruth was a charter member of the Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. She was an Appleton crossing guard for over 36 years. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bud; her son Gary (Donna) Puls, and their children, Joshua and Erin, Larsen, Wisconsin; her sisters, Florence Popp, Appleton, and Betty Kohl, Appleton; her brother, Floyd Abendroth, Appleton, her two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Forslund, Neenah, and Eunice Abendroth, Appleton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Salm and Margaret Schroeder; and her brothers, Richard, Eugene and Leonard Abendroth. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2003, at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 East Florida Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Joel Zank officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. A memorial has been established in Ruth’s name. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows and ThedaCare Hospice for their loving care.
