Ruth Eleanor Lemke

Ruth Eleanor Lemke, age 78,  Appleton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at St Elizabeth Hospital following a short illness.

Ruth was born in Kaukauna, Wisconsin on January 8, 1943 to Lawrence and Loretta (Ashauer) Schmidt.

Ruth was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, class of 1961.  After raising her family and working numerous jobs throughout her younger life including being an LPN following high school, Ruth finally realized her dream of becoming a licensed massage therapist in June, 1997 enjoying time with her clients until her health would no longer allow her to continue the work she loved so much.

Ruth enjoyed playing Solitaire on her computer, making greeting cards and other stamping crafts, spending time with friends and family and listening to her beloved guinea pigs wheet, wheeting.

Ruth is predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Loretta Schmidt, brothers Mark, Earl, and Alan Schmidt, son in law Shawn Cleveland, and nephew Bob Schmidt.

Ruth is survived by her daughters Rita Peters, Silvia (Steven) Golz, Barbara Cleveland, and Anna Lemke (fiance Shawn Balke), grandchildren Lizzie and Emma Peters, Jake and Matt Golz, Tiffany Sobiesczyk, Kayla and Megan Braun-Lemke, Tyler and Brady Cleveland, Corey Lemke (fiance Mallory Seeger), and Tyler (Morgan) Lemke

Ruth is further survived by brothers and sisters Joan (Steve) Woldt, Paul (Deb) Schmidt, Rose Heegeman, Neil Schmidt, and sisters in law Anna Schmidt and Donna Schmidt, as well as numerous nieces and nephews,

The family would like to thank the staff of Edenbrook of Appleton and the nursing staff at St Elizabeth’s for the loving care they have provided in Ruth’s final days.

Visitation will be at St Edward’s Catholic Church, N2926 WI-47, Appleton, WI 54913 Monday Dec 20, 9:00am – 11:00am with memorial service to immediately follow.
