Age 87, passed away in Appleton on Wednesday, October 22, 2003. She was born in La Crosse on September 4, 1916, daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Grabarski) Bettin. She married Robert Grogan in La Crosse on July 3, 1943. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Ruth was a member of the Lady Elks and Ladies League for the Fox Valley Golf Course. She was a proud member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Ruth enjoyed being with Bob and their close friends in Brownsville, TX, where they spent many winters. Ruth will be remembered for being devoted to her family.

Ruth is survived by her husband Robert, daughters: Anne (Lee) Blahnik of Appleton and Mary (William) Seleen of Green Bay; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Bettin of La Crosse; sister, Sister Irene Bettin of Racine; son-in-law, Gerald Schmidt of Kaukauna; and a daughter-in-law, Katy Grogan of Janesville.

Ruth is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Grogan Schmidt and a son, Michael Grogan.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2003 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna.
