Age 91
Of Appleton died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 13, 2003 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on December 1, 1911 to Hulda (Gresenz) and Fred J. Piette. She worked many years at Prange-Way until her retirement in 1980. Ruth was married to Clarence Zoelk on August 26, 1931. They had 56 years of a very happy marriage, until his death in 1988. Ruths loves besides family were antiques, decorating and looking in thrift shops for a bargain.
Survivors include a son James (Sally) Zoelk, Appleton; four grandchildren: Brad (Katie) Zoelk, Appleton, Vicki (Dave) McMorrow, Appleton, Scott (Sue) Zoelk, Phoenix, AZ, Lori Carbayo, CA; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Martin and Carol Rusch, Appleton; three sister-in-laws: Betty Pawelkiewicz, Ory Piette, Ann Zoelk; two brother-in-laws: Lyle (Bev) Zoelk and Sheldon (Lorraine) Zoelk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, a son Thomas, a grandson Todd, three brothers: Lester, Alfred and Dan, and two sisters: Alice Wheeler and Jane Schmit.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 4:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church (912N. Oneida St.) with Pastor Nathan Gauerke officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established.
