Ruth A. Kleba, age 95, of Appleton, passed away in Little Chute on Sunday, March 19, 2017. Ruth was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Thomas and Emily (Kraszewski) Laganowski. She married Edwin Kleba on June 1, 1946; he preceded her in death on May 20, 2007. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was longtime member of St. Thomas More Church, where she served as a communion distributor for hospitalized patients at Appleton Memorial Hospital. Ruth enjoyed tennis, music, poetry, birds and flowers. She was well-known for her cooking and homemade grape jelly. Ruth was loved and appreciated by the many people she met.
Survivors include her children, Ellen (Jim) Cihak; Robert (Patricia) Kleba; David (Karen) Kleba; Elizabeth Kleba; and Catherine (Michael) Eschmann; her grandchildren, Adam Kleba, Rebecca Kleba, Joanna Malliet (Mark), Sarah Person (James), Nathan Kleba (Jen), Jeff Cihak (Amanda), Alex Eschmann, Eric Eschmann; her great grandchildren, Josef Kleba, Courtney Malliet, Kaelyn Malliet and James Person III. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Susan Thomson and Patricia Lane, nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved cat, Peko. Ruth was preceded in death by her brother David Lane and sister Nancy Etcheverry; her brother-in-law Daniel Kleba; her sister-in-law Virginia Harmon, brother-in-law David Harmon, and daughter-in-law Starr Kleba.
The mass intention for Ruth will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald Street in Appleton, on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the 10:00 AM mass.
Interment will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
