WINTER, ROY R.

Roy R. Winter, age 95, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Rennes Health Care Center, Appleton. Roy was born on December 19, 1909, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to the late August M. and Lillian (Hassinger) Winter. He married Evelyn E. Yandre on September 30, 1933. With his father August and brother Walter, Roy was a founding member of August Winter and Sons; he retired as president of the corporation in 1972. He was a former president of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, former president of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Wisconsin, member of the board of directors of Outagamie Bank, a board member at Service and Supply, and member of the Kiwanis Club. Roy enjoyed golfing, bowling and card playing. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Evelyn; his children, Tom (Sandra) Winter, Appleton, and Robert (Sandra) Winter, Eagle River, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Gary, James, John, Michael, Julie and Kelly; and his ten great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances and Florence and his brothers, Rollie and Walter. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2005, at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 North Morrison Street, Appleton, with Rev. Ralph Waack and Rev. John C. Baumann officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in his name to benefit St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
