Sooley, Roy A.

Age 63, died on Monday, November 7, 2005 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. Roy was born in Waukegan, Illinois, on October 18, 1942, son of the late Frank and Martha (Matthews) Sooley. He began his work career as a butcher and later became a sales consultant for commercial roofing companies. Roy's last job was as a butcher for Kash and Karry Grocery Store in Florida. He also owned his own roofing company and was the original owner of Spats Tavern. Roy was a volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and loved traveling, cars, motorcycles and the ocean. He will be greatly missed by his two daughters: Patricia (Brian) Pike, Menasha and Donna L. Remter, Appleton; four brothers: Gerald (Betty), Robert (Zumrut), James (Laura) and Michael (Julie) Sooley; four grandchildren: Nicole Sooley, Samantha Pike, Joseph and Jeffrey Remter; and sister-in-law, Lois Sooley. Roy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, William. The memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at WICHMANN TRI COUNTY CHAPEL, with Rev. Dennis Ellisen officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
