Rosemarie Kathryn (Kueter) Harrison, 64, passed away at home surrounded by her family after her second courageous battle with cancer. Rosemarie was born on April 17, 1954, to Benjamin and Viola (Ernst) Kueter in Bellevue, Iowa. She graduated from Viterbo University with a degree in education and a minor in music. On June 24, 1978, she married Greg Harrison.
Rosemarie began her teaching career in Cascade, Iowa, and continued teaching in Appleton, WI, after the birth of her children. In addition, she taught piano lessons from her home. Her influence on hundreds of children in her classroom and through her music is immeasurable. She had a passion for teaching and approached it as she did life, with a strong work ethic, perseverance, and a heart for bringing out the best in people. Her work in the Appleton School District for the past 26 years involved developing best practices for teaching reading that were shared throughout the district.
Above all, Rosemarie was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to the people close to her. She loved family gatherings, reading, and spending time with Greg. She was a devout member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and passed on her strong faith to her children and grandchildren. Her memory will be treasured by her family and friends, especially her goodness, humility, warm heart, her faith in her convictions, and that beautiful smile. Her greatest joys were her husband, children, and grandchildren; missing the time they spent together made leaving this earth so difficult for her.
Rosemarie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Greg Harrison; two daughters, Stephanie (Casey) Baumler, and Angela (Matt) Olson; five grandchildren, Olivia Baumler, Celia Baumler, Noah Olson, Benjamin Olson, and Aubrey Olson; siblings, Carl (Diane) Kueter, Jeannette Booth, Marcy (Don) Schmieder, Dean (Cindy) Kueter, Barb (Bob) Zupancich, Bev Kueter, and Julie (Tony) Fondell; her mother-in-law, Beverly Harrison; a sister-in-law, Sharon Kueter; brother-in-law, Mike Mullen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Kenneth and Duane Kueter, sister Evie Mullen, and her father-in-law Lyle Harrison.
The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive. Visitation will be on Monday, December 3, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of the liturgy.
