Rose Lutz, age 77, of Appleton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Living Tree Estates. She was born on August 26, 1936, in Neenah, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lena (Jankowski) Zielinski. On September 15, 1956, Rose married the love of her life Richard Lutz at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Menasha. She loved their Saturday night steak dinners and enjoyed dancing to their favorite music. Mom's greatest joy in her life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing cook, an avid camper, loved hosting large family gatherings and taking occasional trips to Las Vegas and casinos throwing nickels at the slot machines. Rose was the glue that kept her family together and she was always there for us when we needed her whether it be to talk to, listen to or just a shoulder to cry on. For the last three years of our dad's life, mom was by his side faithfully until she was stricken with her own stroke on June 23rd, 2013. Our dad sadly passed away on June 27, 2013.
Rose will be greatly missed by her children: Jeffrey (Leah) Lutz, Gary (Susie) Lutz, Paul (Susan) Lutz, Julie (James) Wood, Michael (Heather) Lutz, and Andrea (Tim) Kippenhan; eighteen grandchildren: Adam, Rylee, Griffin, and Jadyn Lutz; Devon Morrison, Audrey and Kennedy Umnus; Stephanie Lutz; Taylor and Brianna Winarski; Matthew and Alexandria Lutz; Nicholas, Noah, Andrew, Michael, Annalise, and Jacob Kippenhan; and her brothers: George (Mel) Zelinski and James (Shirley) Zielinski. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Lutz and three sisters: Janie Zielinski, Frances (Tom) Gertz and Helen (William) Tuttle.
The funeral liturgy for Rose will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception, Hwy 76 in Greenville. Fr. Mark Vander Steeg will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of mass. A memorial fund is being established with proceeds going to the American Heart/Stroke Association. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Living Tree Estates for their excellent care and compassion shown to our mother during her brief stay there.
