Loving wife, mother, grandmother, age 92, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 15, 2003. Rose was born in Lena, Wisconsin on November 26, 1910, daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret (Mueller) Pitzen. She married Vincent Kolosso on April 24, 1934 and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 1978. Rose loved traveling, but her greatest joy was dancing, especially polka’s. She made a great home, and she treated everyone as though they were her children. Rose was an inspiration to her family and every life she touched. She taught the lesson that you are never to old to try anything, and to never give up on life. Rose was a loving and caring women, and people enjoyed being around her. She loved to take care of people, and was a source of strength to everyone she met. Rose will be greatly missed by her children, Tom Kolosso and his fiancé Mona; Rosie (Mike) Grabner; Anne Hein and Lee Hein; Carol (George) Sanderfoot; Jeanette (Jack) King; Joan (Craig) Loos; Steven (Kathy) Kolosso; Daughter-in-law, Nelda Kolosso; her sister, Margaret (Paul) Wagner; 17 grandchildren, Jim (Barb) Kolosso; Andy (Sue) Kolosso; Cindy (David) Tessmer; Kerry (Mark) Fehrman; Christine Kolosso and special friend, Kevin Derring; Kurt Kolosso; Michelle (Brad) Grabner Killam; Tricia (Tim) Hoffman; Michael and Patrick Grabner; Tracey (Kyle) Jenks; Travis (Tina) Hein; Tony Sanderfoot; Jeanette (Mark) Plutz; Sara (Jon) Danforth; Steven Loos; Vincent King; 17 great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan (Margaret) Kolosso; Pete (Genny) Kolosso; Sister Audrey, a member of the Franciscan Order; and Margaret Keffie. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her son, Jim Kolosso; her infant children, Joseph, Mary and Elizabeth Kolosso; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and her brothers and sisters-in-law. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Rev. John Holley, OFM Cap. Officiating. The interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 18 from 4 until 8 p.m., and again at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Rose’s name. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their loving care of Rose and her family. Rose was a woman who never quit living, and lived her life to its fullest.
