Rose Moser, age 88 of Kimberly, passed away at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton, unexpectedly on July 11, 2021. Rose was born in Appleton on June 30, 1933, daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Islinger. On May 3, 1952, she married Ralph Moser at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton; he preceded her in death in 2013 after sixty years of marriage.
Rose was a devout Catholic who prayed for all in need, was faithful in her rosary prayers, and watched mass on television three times each day. (She also watched Wheel of Fortune regularly too…) She loved her family and enjoyed visits from her grandchildren. At the cottage, she enjoyed seeing the water lilies bloom and appreciated the fall colors. Each year she eagerly waited to hear the stories of the kids’ hunting and fishing successes.
She also liked her sweets. Chocolate cake and homemade candy were among her favorites. She loved a good fish fry as well and weekly dinner at Chico’s on beauty shop days. She was a great baker, cook, candy maker and soup maker. She was witty, sassy, brassy, and kiss my assy! And to all of you she would say, “Life is not for wimps!’
Rose is survived by her seven loving children: Mona (David) Denk, Barbara (Dan) Stroess, Ralph (Nancy) Moser, Tom (Marie) Moser, Nick (Lyn) Moser, Ann (Trevor) Nebel, and James (Brenda) Moser. There are twenty-three grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law: Clarice Islinger and Jen Vosters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, five sisters, a brother, as well as Ralph’s brothers and sisters and their spouses, and one great-grandson.
The funeral liturgy for Rose will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 16, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church, located at 810 E. Wallace Street in Combined Locks, with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday morning from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
