Ronald Floyd Peters of Appleton died unexpectedly at his home on January 19th, 2025, with his wife of 50 years by his side. Born May 11, 1952, to Floyd and Althea (Spreeman) Peters in Appleton WI. Graduating from Fox Valley Lutheran, Ron would spend his summers working at his neighbor’s business Earls Rides travelling throughout Wisconsin. One night out bowling, Ron met the love of his life Kay Kromer. They got married on September 20th, 1974. After high school, Ron went to work at Tuttle Press which changed names to Art Fare and finally Chesapeake Consumer Products as a maintenance mechanic. In 2009 the mill moved, and again Ron went to school and graduated to be a diesel mechanic but found his calling as a janitor and general maintenance provider for his and Kay’s church, Mount Olive Lutheran Church and Grade School which he enjoyed until his retirement. He made a lot of children happy with his stories and personality. After retirement Ron took Kay on a lifelong dream trip to Alaska. He loved spending time and helping with his grandchildren and had a lifelong love of model trains.
He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Athea (Spreeman) Peters, His in-laws Arthur G. and Leila V. (Schurr) Kromer, sister in-law Berly Barker and Kim Holtz, many aunts, uncles and cousins, an unborn grandchild and his beloved dog Brownie.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Kay (Kromer), Daughter Michelle (Gregg) Jahnke, Grandchildren Nicholas, Lydia, and Jonathan Jahnke. Sister Sandy (Mike) Siewert, Brother in-law Roger Holtz and Don Barker. Nephews Tim (Dwayne) Reynolds, Tyler (Angela) Reynolds, Adam(Kelly) Holtz, Marie(Ryan) Macpherson, Dan(Elizabeth) Siewert, Cousin John (Darcy) Baeten, Uncle Willie Spreeman, and many cousins.
Funeral Services for Ron will be on Friday January 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church, 920 E. Florida Avenue in Appleton with Rev. Joe Gawal officiating. There will be a visitation at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
