Age 69, passed away at Franciscan Care Center on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. He was born in Freedom on June 23, 1937, son of the late Lawrence and Virginia (Gerrits) School. On July 1, 1963 he married his wife of 43 years, Eileen Bloomer. Ron served in the United States Air Force overseas in Japan from 1955 to 1960. After the Air Force Ron was employed at Thilmany’s until his retirement in 1999. Ron was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings. Fishing, bird watching and going to the casinos; all close to his cabin, were among his favorite activities. Ron was very proud of his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife Eileen; children: Janet (Ron) Hendricks of Kaukauna, Judy (Ken) Bowers of Freedom and Wayne School of Portage; grandchildren: Justin Olveda, Cale and Dillon School; and Cory, Katie, Bridget and Leah Bowers; sister, Shirley LeClaire of Kaukauna; brother, James School of Kaukauna; brother-in-law, John (Carol) Bloomer; godchild, Don School; father-in-law, Howard (Erma) Yakel of Suring. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dorothy (Norm) Hansen of Suring.

The funeral liturgy will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna.

The family extends a special thank you to Fr. Jack Mullarkey for his many visits to see Ron at the nursing home, and to the staff at Franciscan Care Center for their wonderful care throughout the last six years.
