Age 75, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at his home. Ron was born in the town of Bovina on March 10, 1928, son of the late George and Johanna (Jansen) Klika. He was employed for over twenty years at the Kimberly Clark Lakeview Mill, and also worked as a self-employed residential contractor, and a driver for the Appleton Post Crescent for a time. For the past ten years, he had resided at KeenAgers in Menasha, where he was recognized by all as the resident handyman. Ron was an avid bowler and will be remembered by all as a master repairman. He was also proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Navy.
He is survived by six children: Robert (Barbara) Klika of DePere; Daniel Klika of Waukesha; Gary (Cheri) Klika of Little Chute; Richard (Joan) Klika of Menasha; Mary (Tim) Oatman of Appleton; David( Kathy) Klika of West Bend; their mother and Ron's former wife: Lois Diermeier Klika of Fremont; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters: Joyce (Norbert) Uhlenbrauck of Appleton; Isabel (Leo) Huelsbeck of Menasha; Georgann (Michael) Gilbertson of Freedom; a brother: Harland (Pat) Klika of Texas; a sister-in-law: Evern Klika of Salem,. Oregon; a brother-in-law: Harvey Vanden Bloomer of Appleton; and a dear friend Sr. Florence Pasowicz at KeenAgers. Ron is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his friends at KeenAgers. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, two sisters, a brother, and a brother-in-law.
The funeral liturgy for Ron will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, 516 DePere Street in Menasha with Fr. Robert Vandenberg officiating. Interment will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery, New London. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 – 7 PM and again Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the hour of the service. There will be a prayer and scripture service at the funeral home at 7 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be directed to KeenAgers of Menasha.
