Roberta E. "Birdie" Waldoch

Passed away on October 21, 2017 at the age of 80. Birdie was born on September 30, 1937 to Adolph and Emma (nee Rom) Nelson in Neenah, Wisconsin. Birdie graduated from St. Mary’s High School and was a member of St. John the Baptist for many years afterwards. Birdie was joined in marriage to Chester “Chet” Waldoch on May 3, 1958. Birdie and Chet spent time at their cottage on Lake Arbutus with their grandchildren after their retirements. Birdie worked at Sears in the hardware department and at Kohl’s and Menasha Control Corporation. However, the job she loved the most was being a full time mom.

Birdie is survived by her loving children Brad (Lisa), Mark, and Anne (Randy) Borchert. Cherished grandmother of Hannah, Tori, Tess, and Addison. Dear sister of Dick (Carol) Nelson. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Birdie is preceded in death by her son John, her parents, and her siblings Beth (the late Manley) Howe and Mona (the late Tom) Martin.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday October 27, 2017 at the Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial mass will be held on Saturday October 28, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 De Pere Street, Menasha at 11:00 AM. Additional visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Private interment St. John’s Cemetery. Memorials to the Heckrodt Nature Center in Birdie’s name are appreciated.
