Robert “Bob” Theodore Wians, Silver Cliff Wisconsin, Bob, 80 years old, passed away peacefully on December 19th, 2021, at his Step-Daughter’s home in the Town of Dale. He was surrounded by his Children and other Family. He was born on January 26th, 1941 in Minnesota, Son of Harry E. Wians and Mildred (Strohschein) Wians. Bob’s 2 main employers were Oudenhoven Construction and Miron Construction, but did miscellaneous jobs throughout his life. His passion was carpentry and wood working. Bob married the love of his life, Joanne Wians on August 4th, 1984. He resided in the Cecil/Bonduel area, Manitowoc area, Appleton then the Town of Center until his retirement at which time he made his final home “Up North” (Silver Cliff). Bob was in the carpenters union, enjoyed his years as a league bowler at Hahn’s Lanes and then The Super Bowl. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Joanne Wians, Parents as well as his in-laws Louis and Nellie Van Den Abeelen. In addition, he was preceded in death by his Brother Arlen Wians, Sister Lee Rupel and Sister-in-Law Shirley Wians.
Bob is survived by his children: Wendy Ruedinger (Jeff) Larsen, WI; Scott Wians (Lisa), Appleton, WI; Jody Wians (Joel), Appleton, WI; Richard Phillips, Jr. (Lori), Appleton, WI; Julie Zwiers (Jeff) Town of Dale, WI; siblings: Barb Marohl, Bonduel, WI; Ron (Cindy) Wians, Bonduel, WI Bernie Lehndorf (Chris), Appleton, WI; Ella Peterman (Bob), Menasha, Grandchildren: 8 great grandchildren: 9 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Bob loved spending time with his Family. When not working on a project (or 10) in his home he enjoyed gardening, campfires, fishing, Holidays, rummage sales/thrift shopping, canning, time on the boat and traveling. Bob and Joanne’s happy place was always Maui. Bob will always be remembered for his Bloody Mary’s, Old Fashions and pickled asparagus. In addition to that he will be remember for his kind and gentle demeanor.
Funeral/Memorial services will be held at Wednesday, December 22. 2021 at 10:30am at Wichmann Funeral Homes, Tri County location with Rev. Jim Weibel officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:30am to 10:30am at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be on Thursday December 23, 2021 at 12:00pm at Silver Cliff Cemetery in the Town of Silver Cliff. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up for Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue.
