Robert Steffes

Age 50, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 18, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on June 8, 1953 in Fond du Lac to Fred and Ardelle (Joch) Steffes. He graduated from the Chilton High School class of 1971. Boomps was married to Judy Eldred on June 25, 1977 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton. He owned and operated RS Decorating in Appleton for many years. Boomps lived life to the fullest, he enjoyed golf, Nascar, fishing up North, snowmobiling, watching the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his little Mel.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Judy of Appleton, his son Jamie (Cathy) Steffes and his granddaughter Melannie all of Neenah, his mother Ardelle Steffes of Chilton; his sister Sandy (Bill) Welch of Kansas City, Kansas; his brother Tom and his special friend Cindy Wiser of Olathe, Kansas; his sister-in-law Betty Steffes of Fond du Lac; his mother-in-law Lorraine Eldred of Stockbridge, his brothers-in-law Steve (Joann) Eldred of Hilbert, Wayne (Kathy) Eldred of Appleton, and Richard (Cindy) Eldred of Brillion; his sisters-in-law Jo Ann (Dennis) Turney of Chilton, Nancy Eldred of Kissimmee, Florida; and several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father Fred in 1992, a brother Jim in July of 2001, his brother-in-law Francis Eldred in July of 2001.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 10:00 AM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with the Rev. Harry Berryman officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Tri-County Chapel on Friday from 4-8 PM and on Saturday at the Church from 9:00 AM until the time of the mass. Parish prayer and scripture services will be on Friday at the funeral chapel at 7:00 PM. A memorial fund is being established.
