Robert Arthur Lohry (called Bob, or Rob, by his many friends) died peacefully on May 22, 2023 at the age of 97. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Carey, and his second wife, Jeanette Guyette.
Robert was born on September 29, 1925, in Mackford, Wisconsin to William and Laura (Riemer) Lohry, and had 5 siblings. He attended Markesan High School, where he played tuba in the marching band.
He was drafted into the army and shipped out in 1944 to serve in Europe during WWII.
Robert raised four children with his first wife, “Beth”. After her passing, he later married Jeanette Guyette. Upon Jeanette’s passing, he found companionship with Mary Miller-Wenzel.
In earlier years, Robert worked as a salesman for the Beechnut Company. With his wife, Beth, he operated a grocery store and tavern in Mt. Morris, WI. His last place of employment was the Appleton Water Treatment Plant, from which he retired after thirty years. Robert had several hobbies including golfing, bowling, organic gardening, and beekeeping. He also enjoyed camping.

Children: Kathi Lohry, Peter Lohry, Louise Hoffmann (Jack), and Brenda Lohry
Grandchildren: Lisa Alfonso-Hoffmann (Juan), Maribeth Roghair (Paul) and Jake Hoffmann (Katie Lynn)
Great-grandchildren: Elena and Maya Alfonso-Hoffmann, Jack and Nolan Roghair, Kris Ann and Jacob Hoffmann
Step-children: Jim (Judy) and Tom Guyette, Judy Kempinger (deceased)
Step-grandchildren: Michelle Huebschen (Dan), Dave (Sharon) and Joe (Kristin) Guyette, Mike and Kayla Kempinger
A visitation and memorial prayer service will be held on Tuesday, June 13 at Wichman Tri-County Chapel, 1592 S. Oneida St., Menasha, WI.
Visitation, 4:00-6:30 p.m., Service, 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Old Glory Honor Flights, a charitable organization which gives veterans free trips to Washington, D.C. https://www.oldgloryhonorflight.org/
or to Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton, Wisconsin.
