Loving husband, father and grandfather, age 84, died on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Bob was born on April 1, 1918, son of the late Nicholas and Blanche (Brady) Green. On December 1, 1945, he married the former Leona Van Eperen; she preceded him in death in February of 1995. For many years, he was employed at the Kimberly Clark Atlas Mill, Appleton, and retired in 1978 as a member of the Quarter-Century Club. He faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II, serving with Company D, 32nd division, and the 127th Infantry. Bob retired from the Army in 1978 with a Bronze Star and 3 Purple Hearts. He was a member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post #60 in Kimberly, the Company D-40 Club, the Appleton YMCA and Holy Name Parish. Bob will be greatly missed by his 2 daughters: Kathy (Steve) Puls, Neenah; Mary (Don) Gerrits, Little Chute; 3 sons: Raymond (Eileen) Green, Maryland; Mike Green, Kimberly; Jeff (Sarah) Green, Oshkosh; 8 grandchildren: Zev (Ilissa) Green; Angie (Rob) Huettl; Bob Voigt; Amanda (Jamie) Anderson; Brianna and Nicholas Newhouse; Crystal Green; 5 great-grandchildren: Grace and Brendan Voigt; Ari Green; Eric Huettl; Sierra Anderson; and his brother, Don (Blanche) Green, Appleton. Bob is also survived by Leona’s sisters and brothers: Johanna Diedrich, Kaukauna; Fran Richter, Burlington; Luella (Gene) Schultz, Kimberly; Bernie (Nita) Van Eperen, Dale; Theresa Van Eperen, Kimberly; Paul (Barbara) Van Eperen, Kimberly; Dori Van Eperen, Appleton; his good friend Edward Hendricks and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Marv (Lucille) Green; his sister, Lucille (Bill) Platt; a sister-in-law, Mickey Saucer; brothers-in-law, Joe Van Eperen; John Van Eperen; Walter Van Eperen, Jr.; Ray Van Eperen; Wally Diedrich; Bob Richter; Hank Van Eperen; and Leona’s parents, Walter and Marie (Vanden Boogard) Van Eperen. The Funeral Mass will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. The Entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday, July 2 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Parkside Care Center for their loving care of Bob. Bob will be remembered for his love of cooking, golf, fishing and all the stories that he loved to tell; especially to the grand kids.
