Robert King

September 2, 1938 — March 22, 2013

Robert G. King age 74 passed in peace from the loving arms of his family to the loving arms of Jesus on March 22, 2013. Bob was born September 2, 1938 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin the first born of Margie and Gordon King.

Bob graduated in 1958 from Central High School, Madison WI. He worked for Wisconsin Life Insurance Company from 1959-1979. He then worked for the State of Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner, and for Stauffer Cheese in Blue Mounds. After many years of snow and freezing temperatures Bob decided that a change in climate was in order and moved to Dallas TX where he was the Financial Controller for The Expo Group. In 2003 he retired and wanted to be closer to the beach so he moved to Gulfport FL. While in Florida he was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church where he served as church treasurer. In 2009 Bob made the unfaltering decision to be closer to family and moved back to Wisconsin where he resided in Little Chute. His daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandson were the light of his life. He often said that moving back to Wisconsin was the best thing he had ever done. He was always in attendance of his grandkids performances. Bob was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Appleton Wisconsin.

Preceding Bob in earthly death are his parents Margie and Gordon King, younger siblings, Barbara (Statz), Carol and Dale. Also preceding him was his best friend Randy Ferge.

Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Karen and Mike Bultman, grandchildren Kyle, Katie and Marissa Bultman, his great-grandson Oliver. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law DeAnn and Larry Franklin of Black Earth, Wisconsin; his brother-in-law Joe Statz and his children Lori and Fritz; his sister-in-law Kathy King and her children Todd and Nichole, his friends at St. Alban's Church (FL) and Prince of Peace Church (Appleton), his friends at the Coffee Shop, Molly's Café, Landreman's Family Restaurant and Mohnen's Diner.

The following are Bob's words:

My soul is in heaven. I have not left you. I am not sad. Please do not be sad for me. Life is for the living and should not be burdened with grief. I have far exceeded my expectations of life on this earth and, if I could, I would change but a few things. I have made my share of mistakes and I have lived with them. I am happy and I accept my fate. Please be happy for me. I will however, accept from you a prayer as a parting gift.

My greatest contribution to this great earth has been my daughter Karen. I will always love you and I will always be with you. Love, Dad.

There will be a memorial service for Bob on March 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 2330 E. Calumet Street, Appleton with Pastor Roger McQuistion and Pastor Gary Nokkleberg officiating. There will be visitation 2 hours prior to the service. A memorial has been established. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.

Karen's family would like to thank the following: Dr. Misty Johnson, Affinity Hospice nurse Phil, CNA Kristen and the entire Affinity Hospice program, Pastor Roger and Pastor Gary, and all the family, friends and neighbors who have provided comfort, food, prayers and hugs.

Daddy – There are no words to describe what I am feeling; the grief, deep sadness and rejoicing that you are no longer struggling and are now with God. We have been two peas in a pod. There is a hole in my heart that can never be replaced. I love you so much and can't imagine my life without you. I will miss you each and every day. Love, Karen
