ROBERT JOHN SALENTINE
Age 66, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2001 at home. He was born July 5, 1934 to the late Hilary and Aria (Hornke) Salentine in Appleton. Robert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1952 – 1956 as a naval air photographer until he was honorably discharged. Robert worked as a letter carrier in Appleton for 31 years until his retirement from the U.S. Postal Service.
He is survived by his six children, Deborah (Craig) Peterson of Appleton; Robert A. (Nancy) Salentine of Neenah; Sarah (Lawrence) Juneau of Dale; Sheila (Robert) Eisch of Appleton; Cynthia (Chad) Kriewaldt of Appleton; and Rebecca (Mark) Vandenboom of Appleton; his seven grandchildren, Nichole and Jack Peterson; Robert D. and Racheal Salentine; Christine Salentine; Lindsey and Allison Vandenboom.
Other survivors include a brother, James (Kate) Salentine of Appleton; four sisters, Noreen (Harold) Sievert of Appleton; Judy (Robert) Hietpas of Appleton; Mary (Larry) Zwiers of Neenah and Helen (Daniel) Lison of Appleton.
The Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton with Fr. John Holly officiating. Viewing and visitation will be Monday at the FUNERAL HOME from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again Tuesday at CHURCH from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
We have been blessed by your kind and tender love through the years. You will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial is being established in Robert’s name.
