Age 67, passed away at Cherry Meadows on Sunday, May 29, 2005. He was born in Fond du Lac on May 24, 1938, son of the late Harold and Alice (McGray) Lerch. He married Carol Zobel in Waupun on February 19, 1966. Bob served in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam during the conflict. He worked as an Inmate Services Supervisor for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for many years. His hobbies included spending many hours on his stamp collection and gardening. His cats were very important to him, especially Jane, Charlie and Squeeker.

Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol: a son, Gordon Lerch of Austin, TX; and a sister, Kathleen Toney of Fond du Lac. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Mary.

The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2005, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida St. Menasha, with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marge Keenan for being there for Bob. Further, a special thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows for making his last days peaceful.

A memorial fund in Bob's name is being established for the Cherry Meadows Foundation.

"Many said our marriage would not last, but you have given me 39 years of love, companionship and support for all of those years. I will miss you greatly and look forward to joining you some day. Thanks for everything."
