Baumann, Robert J.
Robert J. Baumann, age 50, of Appleton, died unexpectedly, due to complications of diabetes, Saturday evening, March 18, 2006. He was born July 18, 1955, to Robert W. and Jane M. (Stein) Baumann, in Appleton, where he was a resident all of his life. Bob graduated from St. John High School, Little Chute, in 1973 and then attended the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and graduated from Fox Valley Technical College with an associates degree in accounting. He had been employed by Art Faire for ten years and then by Arcways for 20 years. Bob enjoyed sports, especially fishing and golf. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Bob is survived by his mother, Jane M. Baumann; four sisters and a brother, Beckie (Dick) Hawker, Anne (Ben) Kolasinski, Barb (Steve) Dreissen, Pat (Bill) Wildenberg, Dan (Heidi) Baumann; a brother-in-law, Bill Aykens; 15 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Baumann, his sister, Jean A. Aykens, and two nephews, David Aykens and Mark Kolasinski. The funeral liturgy for Robert will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 24, 2006, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 North McDonald Street, with Father Gerald R. Falk officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 pm, Thursday and on Friday at the church from 9:30 am, until the time of the mass. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7:30 pm, Thursday. A memorial fund is being established.
The family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Appleton Medical Center, ICU, for their kindness and special care and to all family and friends who have extended their prayer and support.
