Robert Hoehne, Sr., age 88, passed away Friday, December 29, 2006 at the Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. Bob was born in Kaukauna on July 20, 1918, son of the late William and Luella (Becker) Hoehne. On June 17, 1942, he married the former Marjorie Pein at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna; she survives. During World War II, Bob served his country as a sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps as a bomb site mechanic. For over forty years, he was employed in the testing laboratory at Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna. He was a member of the Thilmany Quarter-Century Club, a former member of the Kaukauna V.F.W., and enjoyed bowling, and had a love for trains, especially steam locomotives. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family. He will also be remembered as an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.
Bob is survived by his wife of sixty-four years: Marjorie Hoehne, now residing at King, Wisconsin; six children: Lynn (John) Stumpf of Morrison, Colorado; Robert (Sharon) Hoehne, Jr. of Kaukauna; Gerald (Mary) Hoehne of Kimberly; Barbara Bies of Kaukauna; Donald (Marcia) Hoehne of Kaukauna; and Mary (Kevin) Cox of Kaukauna; twenty-two grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law: Gerald Vils of Kaukauna. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard (Erna) Hoehne, Howard (Norma) Hoehne, and William Hoehne; sisters Margaret Vils and Mildred (Leo) Ostrzynski; and by a son-in-law Jerry Bies.
The memorial funeral liturgy for Bob will be held at 11:00 AM on Thurdsay, January 4, 2007 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Martin Fox officiating. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
