Age 76, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, May 13, 2004. Bob was born in Waupaca County on February 22, 1928, son of the late William and Dora (Knaack) Erdmann. A graduate of Kimberly High School, Bob faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 4, 1955, he married the former Winifred “Toots” Bock in Appleton; she survives. Bob worked in the warehouse at Kroger Foods in Appleton until the store closed in the early 1960’s. At that time, he was hired by Miller Electric and stayed with Miller for over thirty-one years until his retirement when he turned sixty-five. Bob will be remembered by many as an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his flowers and vegetables with family and friends. He also enjoyed reading, walking, and spending time at the family cottage near Lakewood.
Bob is survived by his wife: Toots Erdmann of Kimberly; two daughters: Becky (Tim) Frommelt of Hazel Green, Wisconsin and Judy (Buck) Diemel of Freedom; two sons: Ron (Mary) Erdmann of Arlington, Virginia and David (Sue) Erdmann of Appleton; six grandchildren: Benjamin Frommelt, Amanda Learman, Brooke Diemel, Stephanie Erdmann, Michele Erdmann, and Nick Erdmann; a brother: Jim (Marie) Erdmann of Kimberly; two sisters: Ada Burton of Kimberly and Evelyn Herman of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law: Mary Erdmann of Green Bay and Janis Zschaechner of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-laws Jack Burton, Ted Herman, and Ken Zschaechner, and a sister-in-law Barbara Lovelace.
Funeral services for Bob will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 17, 2004 at MT. CALVARY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 208 S. Pine Street in Kimberly with Rev. Virgil Hanson officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 – 5 PM and again at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the hour of the services.
