Robert Meyerhofer, age 93 of Appleton, passed away at his home on Monday evening, November 25, 2019. Bob was born in Kaukauna on December 3, 1925, son of the late William and Olive (Hein) Meyerhofer. On June 1, 1946, he married Marie Horn.
Many will remember Bob as being the owner of Fox Valley Turkey Farm in Kaukauna also as co-owner of Langstadt’s, Inc., an electrical contracting business, previously located in Appleton. He was a member of IBEW Local #577 for 43 years, until his retirement in 1989. Bob was a skilled craftsman, who was respected by his peers and friends in his Industry; from conception to completion of projects, he could engineer, design, and build. Bob so loved to orchestrate the family “Spanferkel”, spending time and observing everyone at family gatherings, and was known to be quite knowledgeable on the family ancestry. He enjoyed his hobby farm, pontoon boat rides, and parades on Pickerel Lake, Holiday Get-togethers with family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of seventy-three years: Marie Meyerhofer; their ten children: Victoria Hoffman of Appleton, Charles (Cheryl) Meyerhofer of Appleton, Celeste (Craig) Sanford of New Berlin, Guy (Sara) Meyerhofer of Suamico, Lynette (Scott) Haessly of DePere, Hugh (Julie) Meyerhofer of Appleton, Janel (Michael) Major of Appleton, Jay (Sarah) Meyerhofer of Hortonville, Kip (Diane) Meyerhofer of Appleton, and Kristel Meyerhofer of Appleton. There are also twenty grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Linda (Marty) Diedrich of Freedom, and two brothers-in-law: Richard (Carol) Horn of Larsen and Larry Mills of Appleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law Jacob and Christine Horn; a sister Mary Jane (Norman) Rettler; a brother Donald (Patricia) Meyerhofer; a son-in-law William C. Hoffman, and in-laws: Rita (Jack) Van Roy, Glenn (Millie) Horn, and Judy Mills.
A memorial funeral mass for Bob will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather directly at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
