Robert Edward Seehawer “Bob”

Age 64, died on Tuesday, December 24, 2002 at his home. Bob was born in Appleton on January 12, 1938; son of the late Eldor and Geraldine (Ruwoldt) Seehawer. Bob graduated as the valedictorian from New London High School in 1956. He worked many years at Van Vreede’s as a sales manager, and later on became a self-employed carpenter building homes throughout the surrounding community. Bob took great pride in being one of the founding fathers of the Fox River Racing Club at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, where at a time, he held the title of President. He was an avid stockcar racer and enthusiast. He loved going for motorcycle rides with ‘the gang”. Bob especially enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and having improvisational ‘gigs’ with family and friends. Bob is survived by his children, Steve Seehawer, Kaukauna; Stacie (Keith) Patchett, Appleton; Sidney Seehawer, Green Bay; brothers, Walter and Arthur Seehawer; sisters, Yvonne (Alan) Gambsky; Beverly (Tom) Weyenberg; grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Devan, Brooke, and Savannah Seehawer and Brandon Leitzke; and good friends, Merle & Elsie Simmons, Jim Ready, Wayne Hottenstine, Jim Price, Jim & Helen Paltzer, Al & Sandy Paltzer, Mel & Audrey Schultz, Rene Grode, Hank Kelderman, and Ken Willer. Bob is survived by other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley (Harp) Seehawer; his son, Scott Seehawer; brothers, Richard and James Seehawer; sister-in-law, Eileen Seehawer; and his niece, Sonya Seehawer. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 30, 2002 at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 South Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Jeffrey Verbeke officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, December 29 from 4 until 8 p.m., and again at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to a caring and kind-hearted neighbor, Karl Krause.
You created so many things in your time on this earth. It is now time to build your Heavenly life with Christ. Your music and songs will be heard within our hearts forever. You have crossed the finish line, your race has been won, enjoy the victory laps of Eternal Bliss in Heaven. And Dad, may your soul rest softly and soundly on the wings of the angels…sleep peacefully with the Lord. We love you.
