Robert E. Welter

October 2, 1956 — December 17, 2020

Robert E. Welter, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 17, 2020, with his family by his side, in his Kaukauna home of 22 years.

“Bob” was born in Appleton on October 2, 1956 to the late Harold and Agnes (Ketels) Welter. On December 12, 1981, he married Judy (Myhill) Welter who preceded him in death on September 26, 2011. Bob is survived by his sister Carol (Welter) Brockman, his daughters Rebecca (Myhill) Perez-Nunez, Brenda (Welter) Smith, his sons Andrew Welter, Samuel Welter, his grandchildren Brandon Myhill, Korena Welter, Riva Myhill, Jordan Welter, Ashley Myhill, Dominic Frias-Welter, Luis Perez-Nunez, Justice Welter, Anthony Smith, Stephen Smith, Robert Smith, Myrrah Smith, his great grandson Wyatt Smith, nephew John Wheeler, nieces Laurie Runge, Sally Bowa, Julie Hatfield, Dana Landers, as well as his sisters-in-law Sue (Gordy) Munger, Mary (Dave) Lambie, his brother-in-law Roger Myhill and many other family and friends. Preceding Robert in death are his parents Harold and Agnes, his wife Judy, his brother James, his father- and mother-in-law John and Alice, and his sister-in-law Patty.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his son Sam, who is wheelchair bound, as well as time with his other children and grandchildren. They enjoyed many activities including camping, going to car shows, playing bingo, and grilling out. Personally, he loved tinkering on his cars, especially his Model A Ford. Bob was a member of the Nickle A Model A Club, to which his parents Harold and Agnes had also belonged.

Bob was a comical, fun-loving and generous person who never met a stranger he couldn’t talk to. He could fix anything and enjoyed lending a helping hand to others. He was a friend to many, loved by all and will be greatly missed.

A private funeral service for Robert will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 with a public burial on January 4, 2021 at 10:00am at Appleton Highland Memorial Park, 3131 N Richmond Street, Appleton, WI. 54911.
