Robert V. Schumacher (Bob), age 42, of Appleton, passed away peacefully feeling the love and support of family and friends on August 8, 2016. Bob faced a 6.5-year challenge battling brain cancer.
He was born on October 18, 1973 to Charlie and Mary Ann (Dvorachek) Schumacher. He met Melissa (Stein) in 1996, and on July 8, 2000 they were married. In 2005 they celebrated the birth of their daughter Riley.
Bob graduated from Brillion High School and received an Associate's Degree from Fox Valley Technical College.
In his 42 years, Bob developed a fun and positive attitude that would carry him through unthinkable challenges. He enjoyed listening to live music, and especially loved some of Wisconsin's Rock Festivals. Bob was incredibly gifted and enjoyed woodworking, spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, traveling, and being with Riley and Melissa. Bob worked at Munroe Studios, Bemis, ATS, Harnischfeger and Security Fence.
Bob is survived and will be missed by his wife: Melissa Schumacher; and his daughter: Riley. He is also survived by his parents Charlie and Mary Ann Schumacher; siblings: Don and Bev Schumacher, Dave and Julie Schumacher, Jim and Kay Schumacher, Judy and Bob Stebane, Bill and Greta Schumacher, Jane and Eric Lund and their families including God-daughters Melissa Lattomus and Emmi Schumacher. He was preceded in death by John and Marilyn Stein.
Our family would like to pass along special thanks to the medical team at UW Hospital, especially Dr. Baskaya, Dr. Howard, and Letty Geanon and the Neuro Team. Special thanks also to Melissa Orth and the staff at St. Paul Hospice for assisting Bob during the final days with us.
