Rita J. Trader, age 93, went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, March 4, 2023, while in hospice care at Prairie Home. She was born at home on January 26, 1930, in the Town of Woodville, WI. She was the daughter of the late John and Hattie (Peters) Sprangers. Rita was united in marriage to George R. Trader on September 12, 1950, and at the time of his passing, they had shared nearly 59 years together. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Menasha. Rita loved to go camping and fishing. She also loved playing cards and crocheting. Rita crocheted over 1000 hats for premature babies and others. Her quilting group made hundreds of quilts for those in need.
Rita is survived by her son Jeff and his wife Patty. She is also survived by granddaughter Mary (Oliver) Myers, grandson Mark (Katie) Trader and great granddaughters Belle Myers, Celeste Myers and Juniper Trader. She is further survived by her sister Marion Oudenhoven and her brother John Sprangers and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband George who has been waiting nearly 13 years to be reunited, son Terrance, brothers Leo (Joan), Frank (Sally), Tony, Lester and Lawrence, sister Adeline (Joe) Van Densen; sisters and brothers-in-law Millie Sprangers, Ardelle Trader, Elaine (Dick) Tuttle, Jerome Oudenhoven, Herb (Ardelle) Trader and Janie (Bennie) Marks.
A mass of christian burial will take place at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 DePere Street, Menasha on Friday March 10, 2023, at 11:00am. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:30am until the start of mass. Father Michael Lightner will preside. Rita will be buried at St John’s Cemetery, Menasha.
