Richard “Dick” Weisgerber of Appleton died unexpectedly January 31, 2023.
He was born August 11, 1946, to the late James and Madelyn (Noie) Weisgerber. He was a graduate of Xavier High School and attended U.W. Whitewater.
Dick's claim to fame was growing up next door to Rocky Bleier. Rocky said his greatest games were played on the Weisgerbers' lawn and he'd have as many as fifty touchdowns before "Dickie" gave up. Dick wasn't a quitter. Dick loved sports and was a referee and umpire for many years until he said the kids got "too fast for him."
Dick worked for General Beverage in Oshkosh and retired in 2009.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Kristine. He is also survived by son Todd (Suzy) Weisgerber and daughter Amy (Craig) Batley, as well as seven grandchildren.
"We had a good life together, Dick. Thank you. I love you."-Kristine.
